Shipping Program (Formerly known as DippedFruit.com)
One of Edible strategic advantages in the dipped fruit category is that we have a vast network of local stores, and we can offer something our competition can’t – same day service! However, today our network of Edible® stores does not provide complete nationwide coverage, while our key competitors can service customers nationwide, and therefore can reach consumers that we could not through local store service.
To help Edible offer nationwide service, in conjunction with the launch of the Shipping Program. However, the Shipping Program and edible arrangement stores are two separate elements of the Edible business.
In this section, you will learn more about the shipping program (DippedFruit.com). You can find more information about the Shipping Program located in the “Shipping” chapter of this Operations Manual.
Shipping Program Product Offering
The Shipping Program product offering includes select 12-count dipped fruit boxes and select dipped fruit products and retail items that are able to be shipped. We may continue to add additional products to the program in the future, which may differ from the products offered through EA.
Shipping Program Standards
Our expectation is that stores fulfilling orders that originate from the shipping program will perform at the level of excellence that our customers have come to expect from EA.
To receive orders from DippedFruit.com, stores must follow all Edible® system and service standards including, but not limited to, the following requirements as outlined in the relevant chapters of the Operations Manual:
- Service all orders during required hours/days of operation, including same day cutoff times.
- Follow all operational (step by step) procedures including but not limited to use of approved chocolate products, size of berries and “product specifications for all fruits”, fruit cutting and dipping procedures, and utilizing all required equipment for the proper preparation and storage of dipped fruits.
- Use all required packaging elements, which may be modified in the future.
- Follow all approved delivery procedures for dipped fruit, including how the final package is delivered to the customer.
- Follow all customer complaint resolution procedures including, when warranted, replacement of a product if a customer complaint is filed with the store verbally or electronically.
- Offer the complete dipped fruit selection that is available on edible.com. Availability may be modified and include different product selections, toppings and other items.
- Fully stock all approved/required additional inventory items (balloons, plush, etc.) that may be sold on edible.com.com as part of product packages.
- Maintain the current versions/updates of point-of-sale system (SMS and the dipped fruit terminal) to be able to receive and fulfill orders.
- Follow all ticket logging and record keeping procedures.
