As awareness of our brand grows nationally and internationally, it is crucial that we be vigilant in safeguarding our confidential information at all times. As such, there may be situations where a person claiming to be a vendor, prospective franchisee, another franchisee, a reporter or a Guest, to name a few, contacts you ask for information about Edible® and your business. You must never discuss information that is confidential with anyone as doing so may expose our trade secrets, jeopardizing the brand and your business.
To help alleviate inadvertent disclosures, the guidelines below MUST be followed at all times. They are designed to protect our confidential information, trade secrets and you.
You are not permitted to discuss or show ANY confidential information including, but not limited to:
All tools including cutting machines, blades and equipment
- Vendors (fruit, baskets, tools, marketing, etc.)
- EA Policies & Procedures, training videos
- Advertising/Marketing (where, how, what works/doesn't work)
- Guides & Manuals (Step By Step, Operations Manual, etc.)
- Production Posters
- Product information, including new products coming soon
This type of information is only for those who are part of our system and have agreed to keep all our information confidential. In fact, if you give out any of this type of confidential information, that is a material breach of your franchise agreement.
In addition, never allow anyone to enter the back of your store. There are no exceptions to this policy.
If someone claims to be a prospective franchisee, you can provide general information at your own discretion such as your experience owning a store, your store's performance, etc. NO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION CAN BE SHARED. If you cautiously want to speak to someone who claims to be a prospect, please feel free to contact Edible Franchise Development Team to confirm this person is in fact a prospect.
Your employees are not permitted to speak with prospects or provide them with any information at any time. It is too difficult to control what they say. They are not sensitive to what is accurate or appropriate for discussion, and they could reveal confidential information.
REMEMBER: The people who call you or visit your store could be sent by a competitor or potential competitor to try to learn our trade secrets and hurt your business. It is critical that you protect all Edible® confidential information that has made us the industry leader and enabled you to obtain the level you have reached.
