One of the first impressions our Guests receive when they walk in the door is how the employees look. If they are clean, neat and professional in their appearance, the Guests will believe the rest of the business is operated in the same manner. Team members should always be aware of how they appear while at work. A polished and professional look will inspire confidence in your business and in its employees.
All Employee uniforms must be ordered from the approved who carries the current approved uniforms.
Following are the uniform and appearance standards:
- All staff members’ uniforms are clean and neat.
- Throughout the store, it is obvious that all employees wash their hands frequently.
- Plastic gloves are worn by all production employees. Gloves are removed prior to entering the front floor
All employees are wearing approved uniforms:
- SHIRT: Manager approved Edible shirt (edible t-shirts, polo's or oxfords), short sleeve (long sleeve upon manager approval). Shirt must be clean, pressed and tucked in pants (accommodation for maternity wear).
- PANTS: All employees should wear clean pressed pants kakis style (light tan or black) or jeans free of rips or holes. No yoga or stress pants are allowed. Driver are allowed to wear kakis style shorts in warmer weather, however they are not allowed to be worn by the store staff.
- APRON: Edible apron that is clean, and crisp in appearance. Apron is tied in front with apron strings under the apron must be worn in both the back of the house as well as the front (in stores selling smoothies) Apron must be washed daily.
- HAT: Edible is to be worn at all times by staff members. The hat must be worn bill forward. Individuals with longer hair that does not fit within the hat must tie it behind the hat and must wear a hair net over the excess hair.
- SHOES: Non-skid shoes with low heels, with no exposed areas. Socks must be worn. Leathered soles are not allowed. No open toed shoes / sandals are allowed.
All employees adhere to appearance standards:
- RINGS: One ring per hand, plus wedding band is acceptable.
- NECK CHAINS: Any necklace or chain should be worn inside the uniform shirt and out of the guest's view.
- EARRINGS: Earrings must be worn in pairs. Maximum 2 earrings per ear. Dangling earrings shorter than one inch are allowed. Earrings no larger than one inch in diameter are acceptable. No other visible body piercing, including tongue studs, is permitted.
- WATCHES: One watch may be worn.
- MAKEUP: Makeup may be worn in moderation.
- HAIR: Hair should be neat, clean and professional. It must be off the collar or under the hat, away from the face and not extreme in style.
- MUSTACHE: Mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed.
- BEARDS: Beards or goatees should be neatly trimmed. Beard guards might be required based on local health codes.
- HANDS: Hands must be washed and sanitized at the beginning of each shift and after every possible contamination such as sweeping and handling products.
- NAILS: Nails should be no longer than 1/4" from the finger and should be neatly trimmed.
