Quality Assurance Review (QAR)
One of Edible’s greatest assets is our strong and respected brand. The Edible® brand name is a promise that we will always deliver the same high standards of quality, freshness, service and enjoyment to each and every Guest, no matter which location they frequent. The consistency of our brand builds trust in our business and sales for our products.
Because we are a franchise company, every store in our system has both a stake in our brand and a responsibility to uphold the brand standards every day. When an Edible® Guest has an “out of compliance” experience with our brand, it risks the power of the brand for everyone.
So how do we ensure our Edible® Brand stays Best in Class? One way is through the Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs).
QARs are deliberately unannounced so the RDO can see how a store is operating on an average day. The purpose of the visit is twofold. First, it ensures the store is upholding food safety practices and following company standards. The RDO will have a checklist to rate the store on a variety of measures. Each measure has a different weight based on its criticality to proper operation. The RDOwill also take photos for documentation.
The second purpose of the QAR is as a training and recognition opportunity for Franchisees and their teams. In doing a detailed review of your store, the RDO is not only able to identify areas for improvement but also areas of strength. This is a great opportunity to gain insights about your store’s best practices and celebrate them with your team!
The RDO will typically conduct the QAR of your store on their own. When they are finished, they will go through the questions with Franchisees and/or Manager(s) and explain any issues they may have noted. We recommend you take part of this as a collaborative effort to improve overall operations in your store if you are on site and available.
Following the QAR, an email will be sent to your email account with the details of the review. Your RDO will review the results with you and answer any questions. In particular, they should review all Action Items, so you have a goal to address any items that received a “no” answer.
