It is never too soon in the process to start thinking about hiring a General Contractor.
EA can recommend GCs in your area that have worked with other franchisees in their build-out or upgrade. If you need a list of surrounding stores with their phone numbers to discuss certain GCs, EA can provide that to you.
The following is information that contractors generally need to give you a quote for how much your build out will cost:
- An approved Equipment Plan (provided by the EA Design and Construction team)
- Architectural drawings
- Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical drawings
The GC will need access to your space to get most of this information. If you do not have location finalized or access to your space is unavailable, generic layouts and elevations can be provided by EA that a GC can use to create a budgetary proposal.
It is advised that you obtain multiple quotes from contractors so you can be assured to get the best pricing for your area. EA highly recommends getting at least three quotes.
